Something we'll never forget is that our business isn't just about fixing cars - it's about caring for customers, from collecting damaged vehicles, delivering courtesy cars and returning the repaired vehicle. That's why when it comes to getting vehicles back on the road cost-effectively, with the minimum amount of fuss and the maximum amount of care - it's not by accident - that we're the UK's largest group of accident repair centres.
Repairing over 360,000 vehicles every year, Nationwide Accident Repair Services Ltd is the leading and largest, comprehensive automotive repairer in the UK. With 125 state-of-the-art equipped Repair Centres, a UK wide Mobile Repair network, a UK wide mobile glass repair and replacement network, three Rapid Repair centres and an accident management and claims handling service, Nationwide boasts the broadest range of repair solutions and services in the industry today.
Did you know?
Every car repair carried out by Nationwide, whether in a repair centre or by a Nationwide mobile repair vehicle, includes a comprehensive lifetime guarantee for the remaining period of ownership of the vehicle.
If required, Nationwide will always collect the vehicle to be repaired from a home or work address, and then return it when the work is complete at no extra cost, and at a time that is convenient to the driver.
Nationwide has numerous manufacturer and retailer approvals at a local level, including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Skoda, Mazda, SEAT, Jaguar, Audi, BMW and Land Rover.
The policy at Nationwide is always to repair rather than replace where it is safe to do so. This is significantly better for the environment, it speeds up the repair, and is better value for the end user.
Nationwide is the only organisation in the UK to offer accident management through its own network of repairers.
All of the Nationwide repair centres and mobile repair vehicles have state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and all of our repair centres are BS10125 compliant (the UK industry standard for regulating the quality of vehicle repairs). In fact Nationwide has more BSI standard approved bodyshops than any other organisation in the UK.
The business has become the preferred repairer of many of the UK's insurance companies including RSA, Zurich, Aviva, AXA, Allianz, CIS and many more.
Caring for the environment - our key policy
As the UK’s largest vehicle repairer, Nationwide takes its environmental responsibilities seriously. Our key policy is, wherever possible, to ‘repair rather than replace’ as this reduces energy consumption and preserves raw materials. We are also reducing pollution by using low-noise equipment and the very latest chemical free, water-based paint systems in both bodyshops and the Mobile Repair vans. An innovative recycling initiative across the network of repair centres has seen recycling increase by 592% in just two years, reducing Nationwide’s carbon footprint by 551 tonnes. Over 85 tonnes of paper and cardboard were recycled in 2011 (equal to saving over 1500 trees) and 82% of Nationwide’s total waste is now recycled.
Nationwide also participates in The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme run by the Environment Agency and has taken active steps to reduce energy consumption across the business. This includes using low-energy light bulbs, keeping repair centre workshop doors closed and turning off lights and computers at the end of the day. In addition, state-of-the-art, low energy paint booths are installed with every site upgrade and the business is constantly trialling and evaluating new, environmentally responsible technologies.
- In a typical year, Nationwide uses 150,000 litres of paint.
- In a typical year, Nationwide will repair One in every 150 vehicles on the road.
- The most popular colour of vehicle on the road is silver, but Nationwide repair more blue vehicles.
