Double Scoop at British Bodyshop Awards 2017
Nationwide have seen great success at the ABP Club’s British Bodyshop Awards 2017!
The awards, hosted at the prestigious Battersea Evolution venue to annually recognise the best achievements in the industry, took place on 9th May.
Nationwide had a strong presence at the awards, with an incredible seven nominations across the board securing two wins by Nationwide Torbay for the ‘Best Loved Bodyshop’ presented by LV= Insurance and Brain Ireland from Nationwide JCC Grimsby for the Best for Customer Individual of the Year, nominated by Direct Line Insurance.
The team at Torbay were represented by the General Manager, Graham Prew who was understandably proud his team: “It was a good evening, the presentation was great and to get the LV award for the whole team was unbelievable. A lot of hard work has gone into getting to where we are over the past year so it was brilliant to get recognised.”
Brian Ireland, who was over the moon with his achievement said: “I would like to thank the Direct Line group for this award. I didn`t think I would get an award for doing my job but this is also down to all our team and it is wonderful to have our hard work recognised at such a prestigious event.”
Nationwide JCC Grimsby was also nominated by the Direct Line Group for the Best for Customer Site and Nationwide JCC Hull for the Speedy Repairer of the Year.
Further nominations included Nationwide Kings Lynn nominated by LV= Insurance for the Best Loved Bodyshop alongside Nationwide Leicester, nominated by AXA Insurance for their Best Bodyshop Award.
Nationwide were presenting two awards to their approved network and the winners were revealed by Tracey Chamberlain, the Head of Approved Repair at Nationwide Network Services.
Congratulations have gone to John Durrant and Palace Panels ARC, Croydon for winning the Bodyshop of the year from the Approved Network – South and to Byron Thomas representing Autocraft, Aberystwyth for winning the Bodyshop of the Year from the Approved Network – North.
John commented on his amazing achievement: ''When I heard Tracey announce our name I couldn't believe it, it was so surreal, winning such an award at such a prestigious event was a dream come true and I would never have imagined this all those years ago as an apprentice in Stepney east London.
Winning this means everything to me and my excellent team and without them it wouldn’t be possible. I'd like to say a big thank you to Tracey and Nationwide, PPG and ABP for their support but mainly to thank my team at Palace Panels for all their hard work and effort of the last few years.''
Byron said “Thanks everyone at Nationwide Network Services. It was a honour to be nominated for the award and a great accolade to have won it and it is a testament to all the staff at Autocraft.”
As the final awards were announced the evening of fun continued, and would not have been the same without the Nationwide sponsored dodgems providing a fantastic way for everyone to celebrate!
