Nationwide Scoop Hat-trick at IMI Awards 2017!
Nationwide are overjoyed to announce that our three finalists at the IMI Outstanding Achievers Awards 2017 have been victorious, with all three walking away as winners! Winning these awards is a great tribute to one of our core values at Nationwide; we always strive for continuous improvement.
The annual awards, which are designed to recognise outstanding achievements in the motor industry, were held on 17th October at IMI Fanshaws. The Nationwide Technical Training and Professional Development Academy, VDA Rick Prior, who was recently promoted to Technical Trainer and newly qualified Apprentice Reece Punter all happily accepted their trophies after being named winners in their respective categories!
Our Technical Training and Professional Development Academy, which is accredited by the IMI, was named IMI Outstanding Specialist Centre of the Year 2017.
Chris McGowan, Technical Training Manager, said: “Not only have Nationwide had a hat-trick of awards, but the Technical Training and Professional Development Academy have now won this accolade three years running. We were delighted to again be recognised for all our hard work and pleased that the excellent training opportunities we offer to our team are once again deemed outstanding.”
All our finalists began the day at 12.45 with a champagne reception, where they met many people from across the industry, as well as Prince Michael of Kent, who was in attendance to hand out awards and congratulate all those who won.
Newly promoted Technical Trainer, Rick Prior, winner of the Outstanding Accredited Professional Award, said: “I was nominated for the award as I have three ATA accreditations in Panel, MET and VDA. It was a really nice day, and I’m so thrilled that I walked away with the award. Meeting Prince Michael was great too, he was a really nice guy.”
Our final winner, Reece Punter, recently graduated from his Panel Apprenticeship and is now working as a Technician at NCRC Nottingham, where his father also works as a Paint Technician.
Paul Kemp, Reece Punter’s General Manager attended the event, along with Reece’s father, to show their support to Reece who won the award for Outstanding Technical Student of the Year in Body Repair. He said: “Reece is a shining example of a Nationwide Apprentice. He is eager to learn and a pleasure to work with. We are all proud of what he has achieved so far in his career.”
At Nationwide, we work as a team and receiving these accolades at the IMI Outstanding Achievers Awards is a great way of recognising our teams hard work and commitment to their roles. We are all extremely proud of our three, very deserving winners.
