Nationwide Training Centre - Specialist Centre of the Year 2016!

The Institute of the Motor Industry held their Outstanding Achievers Awards this week and Nationwide were named as winners at the annual industry event.

Nationwide’s Technical Training Centre was named as Specialist Centre of the Year 2016, this being the second year running that the Centre has been awarded the accolade – a fantastic achievement for all the team.

The IMI Outstanding Achievers Awards was this year held at IMI Head Office, Fanshaws and is an event to recognise both outstanding individuals and IMI Approved Centres across the UK who have shown admirable commitment to the motor industry, demonstrating passion to succeed in it.

Present was His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, IMI Patron, who took to the stage to present the awards. On announcement of the Specialist Centre Awards he presented Dawn Swales, HR & Training Manager with the award along with his congratulations.

Speaking after the awards Dawn Swales spoke of her delight:

The Outstanding Achievement Award is in recognition of excellence within the motor industry and to have the Training Centre and the Training Team’s hard work recognised amongst these outstanding companies and professionals for the second year in a row is a fantastic achievement.

‘The Technical Training Centre is going from strength to strength and the team’s passion effort and dedication to what they deliver in the centre is clear for all to see and something I’m extremely proud of. Thank you to the IMI for recognition of this and well done to all the finalists at the awards, it was a showcase of the excellence and talent that we have within the motor industry as a whole.’

Nationwide’s Technical Training Centre is based in Goole, East Yorkshire and has a dedicated Training Team that work very closely with the IMI and their external quality assure. They regularly attending standardisation meetings to ensure that everything delivered from the centre is of the very highest quality and up to date with industry standards and technologies.

The Technical Training Centre will play a key part in delivering Nationwide’s commitment to learning and development of team members across the group. Future plans are in place to expand the Nationwide Academy, extending the range of learning opportunities for team members across all levels and disciplines including; traineeships, apprenticeships, technical training, IMI accreditations, professional and management development programmes.

The Training Centre has already undergone expansion in recent months and is now seeing an increased number of candidates and Nationwide team members using the facility.
