Rounds 3 & 4 a great success!

What a great weekend at Silverstone! The Porsche Carrera Cup 2016 once again brought together all our staff, customer partners and their families to support and celebrate Dan Cammish at the 3rd and 4th Race of the season. As always, Dan and his team showed great commitment and hard work which despite challenging weather conditions on Saturday, lead to his double victory. Dan was delighted with the results:

"Our car was strong in race one but race two was probably even tougher as every lap was a qualifying lap. I am very happy with the result. I would not be able to achieve this without the support I get from the team and the technicians and sponsors. Racing is a team sport. I get to do the fun part!"

Nationwide at Silverstone

Michael Wilmshurst, the CEO at Nationwide, explains why the Company got involved with The Porsche Carrera Cup:

"The Porsche Carrera Cup offers us an opportunity to enjoy motorsport and invite our customers and team members to enjoy it too. We engaged our Team in voting for the car's livery design and we follow Dan’s journey at every Race. Everyone in the Company has a chance to come along with their friends and family and we are extending invites to Teams of our customers, a number of who joined us this weekend. We value teamwork and know it is a key to any success, whether on the racing circuit or at work. It is why we put such store in our ‘One Nationwide, One Team’ ethos."

At Silverstone, Nationwide launched a "Drop-in point", the place where the guests could meet, collect food vouchers and have a chance to beat Dan's challenging lap time of 2:27 on our car simulator! Dan proved impossible to beat, on and off the track altogether, however there was a close contender with 2.33. This social corner will be available at every Race this year and it’s a great way to raise money for our chosen charity for 2016, Macmillan Cancer support.

"We had a fantastic day. We enjoyed watching the race from the main grandstand overlooking the pit lane, we met with work colleagues and their children and it was great fun. We had an opportunity to meet Dan, see him receive his trophy for a great win and had a few snaps taken with the Porsche car. I understand the Drop-in centre is going to be at every race. It is a special Thank you treat for the team." Allison Porter, Fleet Manager at Nationwide

Come and join us for rounds five and six at Dan’s home circuit of Oulton Park on 5th and 6th June. It surely will be another adventure and a fun weekend!
