National Apprenticeship Week - Day Four - Nationwide looking for future talent at the National Apprentice Show

March 09, 2017

Following National Apprenticeship Week, Nationwide will be on the lookout for future talent highlighting our apprenticeship opportunities at the National Apprentice Show.

Nationwide recognise the responsibility we have as the UK’s leading accident repair services group, to bring through the next generation of skilled individuals into the vehicle repair industry.

In our quest to attract the talent of tomorrow, future technicians and skilled individuals into our business we are showcasing what Nationwide have to offer at the National Apprenticeship Show in Milton Keynes next week.

The Nationwide Apprenticeship Programme is going from strength to strength and has some unique qualities that make it the stand out choice for students that want to start their career in our industry through an apprenticeship.

The National Apprenticeship Show will be held at Arena MK in Milton Keynes next week on the 13th & 14th March. The Nationwide team will be alongside 100’s of exhibitors including employers, colleges and training providers to engage with thousands of young individuals about the benefits and opportunities available to them through apprenticeships.

The Talent Acquisition Team will be on hand at Arena MK to talk to potential apprentices, parents and tutors about the benefits of joining the Nationwide Apprenticeship Programme. We will be giving the opportunity to discuss what the programme is really like and first-hand accounts of what is involved with some of our Bodyshop Managers and current apprentices.

The event at Area MK is just the first of a string of events aimed at highlighting the career and apprenticeship opportunities at Nationwide. Future events include the National Apprenticeship Show in Manchester during October and World Skills Show event in November this year.

Our exhibition activity isn’t just aimed at apprentices, we are also attending several recruitment events throughout the country and also military resettlement events that provide employers and ex-military personnel with networking opportunities. These shows will provide a great platform for Nationwide to showcase what we have to offer on our semi-skilled development programme where we recruit individuals with some technical skills required in our industry, give them up skill training, developing their knowledge and experience to thrive working in our sector, all whilst employed by Nationwide.

These are just some of the activities planned by the Talent Acquisition Team throughout 2017 as we look to further highlight the opportunities available at the UK’s leading accident repair services group.

Scott High, Head of Talent Acquisition at Nationwide added: "A key initiative within our overall Talent Acquisition strategy is that we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time. I am very excited with our announcement of increasing our apprenticeship team. Apprentices generally are our future talent and this new fresh talent will compliment our continually growing team. We currently have vacancies across the UK within a number of roles to join our team.
