Nationwide Accident Repair Services are extremely proud to announce that Panel Apprentice, Michael Kilner from NCRC Sheffield succeeded in securing a medal at the IMI Skill Auto Final this weekend!
Michael, who is a third-year apprentice, competed over three days, taking on a number of challenges against the best apprentices in the UK. Michael walked away with the bronze medal in Automotive Body Repair, what a great achievement for himself, his college and Nationwide!
The event, which was held as part of the Skills Show, hosted a range of competitions from Body Repair to Health and Beauty. Once the competition was over, Michael was able to kick back and relax at the award ceremony with his fellow competitors where he was awarded the bronze medal!
Michael said: “I couldn’t believe it but I’m over the moon. Thank you to everyone from Nationwide for supporting me, it’s been a great experience and I’m in utter disbelief.”
Michael popped over to the Nationwide exhibition several times over the course of the three days where the Nationwide Team, and Michael’s General Manager Paul Garbett, were on hand to find the next generation of apprentices! The event which had over 30,000 visitors a day was a great way to speak directly with those looking at completing an apprenticeship with Nationwide!
Daryl Head, Silver medallist in Car Painting at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 and Nationwide Paint Technician was on hand to offer Michael some sound words of advice and show future apprentices just where an apprenticeship with Nationwide could lead to.
The team at Nationwide are extremely proud of Michael and all that he has achieved and look forward to watching him grow and develop a long and successful career at with us.
