Nationwide’s Annual Award Winners Monza Delight

Nationwide’s Annual Award winners landed back on British soil with huge smiles on their faces after enjoying a weekend of sun, celebration and Porsche Carrera Cup racing in Italy.

The awards, which encapsulate many of Nationwide’s core values including ‘looking for continuous improvements’ and ‘putting their customers first’, are awarded annually to Nationwiders who demonstrate the One Nationwide, One Team spirit and who have gone above and beyond to deliver excellent results for Nationwide and their customers.

Nationwide are leading the way in employee engagement across the industry, knowing that recognising their team members is central to their success. The winners of this year’s awards were invited on an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy to support the Nationwide backed Porsche and driver Dino Zamparelli in round 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup in Monza.

The weekend saw the winners lap-up the Italian sunshine at the circuit in celebration of their achievements.

Darren Neagle, winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award, said: “The weekend was a wonderful way for the company to show their appreciation and recognise our hard work over the past year. It was great fun celebrating with the other winners and meeting people from all corners of the business.”

Chloe Gillingham, Nationwide Apprentice of the Year, said: “It was amazing, I had so much fun and felt like royalty. We were all individuals from across the business but we clicked straight away. I feel so appreciated by Nationwide.”

Summing up the trip, Nick Hedges, Nationwide Bodyshop Manager of the Year, said: “Fabulous weather, fabulous racing and fabulous company. A weekend we will all remember.”

The winner’s year-round efforts are clear to see as they consistently deliver against Nationwide’s business KPI’s of quality, service, and speed.

Nationwide CEO, Michael Wilmshurst, said: “The winners of these awards have shown incredible commitment to Nationwide, they have gone above and beyond to achieve fantastic results and are setting an excellent example to their fellow team members. I was delighted to host the winners in Monza, and what a well-deserved reward it was.”

Nationwide were celebrating success all round at the weekend as Dino Zamparelli was on top form in the Porsche Carrera Cup, taking the race win on day one, and skilfully working his way from 6th to 2nd on day two in rounds 5 and 6 of the race season.

A successful weekend for Nationwide was had both on and off the track.
