After completing a successful trip to Monza in Italy last time out, Nationwide Accident Repair Services heads to Oulton Park in Cheshire for rounds seven and eight of the UK’s fastest one-make series, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
Dino Zamparelli, who drives the Nationwide-liveried Redline Racing Porsche, maintained a 100% podium run in 2018 with a win and second place at Monza, and has a six-point advantage over his next-placed rival in the championship standings.
“It has been a really positive year so far and the Nationwide Racing Porsche hasn’t been off the podium yet, so we want to continue that form into this weekend,” said Dino. “I’ve always had good results around Oulton Park and I want to get a win this time, before the second half of the year.
“It is a circuit I enjoy and I’m sure the team will give me a good car as they have done all year so I’m excited to get out there and put some good performances in. I want to improve my qualifying from Monza, and the form bodes well for the rest of the year.”
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is an important series for Nationwide to be associated with, as the company invites thousands of team members with their family and friends to the racetrack each season. This enables Nationwide to show gratitude for the hard work of its team while engaging with them through competitions, activities, and on social media.
After flying a number of its annual award winners out to celebrate their excellence at Monza, the Nationwide Race Hub returns to Oulton Park. This is the central meeting point for guests which features the Nationwide Porsche Simulator where fans can try to beat Dino’s lap time. There’ll be collections for Cancer Research UK, Nationwide’s charity partner for 2018, and the team will be treated to an exclusive session to meet Dino, where he will sign autographs and pose for photographs.
Nationwide and Dino’s weekend begins on Friday June 8 with two test sessions at 09:35 and 13:10. The all-important qualifying session takes place on Saturday June 9 at 13:05 with the first of the two 18-lap races that afternoon at 17:10. The second race will get underway on Sunday June 10 at 15:30 and will be shown live on ITV4 and online via ITV Hub.
